This home featured a traditional, wood-burning fireplace as many area homes do.  The new owners were doing substantial renovations to the home and the dated, undesireable appearance of the original fireplace had run its course.  Like many customers this day and age, concerns over efficiency and insulation of the home are of the utmost priority.  In this case, the homeowner chose to convert their traditional wood-buring fireplace by installing a gas fireplace insert and retrofitting the face of the structure in stone.

Some builders may suggest a faux stone products as they lack the skill to create works with real stone.  Natural stone is thousands of years old and is made from the Earth, no manufacturer can produce an equally strong or desirable product. 

StoneCraft can retrofit your existing fireplace with real stone!  This process can maintain the unit as a traditional fireplace, or be converted to a gas or wood burning appliance for your home!  Some say that nothing can replace the sound of crackling logs, burning wood or the glow of burning pile of logs...  while others argue that the efficiency of a modern unit versus traditional, the cost and efforts inherent with storing wood, something that can be remote controlled and turned on or off with the flick of a switch...
